Job Title:  Milk Hauler           
Reports to: Milk Division Supervisor

Position Overview: 
In the position of a Milk Hauler, responsibilities will include collecting milk samples for quality testing, measuring milk volume and transporting the load from the farm to the factory for processing. Other duties consist of driving a tanker truck with a liquid load and ensuring the functionality of all equipment to successfully complete deliveries and on schedule.  

Essential Job Functions:
  • Complete and log the measuring and sampling of milk as well as labeling milk samples by pickup
  • Ensure the completion of the farmers paperwork
  • Ensure the completion of the factory’s receiving paperwork
  • Check cooling systems for optimal operation
  • Load the milk into the truck tank with a 35’ hose to connect to the farm tank outlet, setting up electrical components and monitoring the operation
  • Off-load milk at the plant with equipment and submit/sort samples from the load
  • Driving the tanker truck to and from farms and factories
  • CIP Process (Clean In Place) - Wash and sanitize all equipment and prepare for next the shift
  • Follow the company Truck Cleaning Guidelines

Qualifications:
  • No education requirement
  • 0-1 years of experience
  • Class A CDL license; tankers endorsement, doubles and triples endorsements; Milk Sampler-Grader license issued through Oregon Department of Agriculture

Physical Demands: 
  • Position may require standing for long periods of time, as well as sitting, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking, etc.
  • Ability to regularly lift 5 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Work requires continual mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive, or diversified requiring constant alertness to monitor the production process and/or identify defects.   

Work Environment:
  • Work is typically performed with exposure to dust, fumes, dirt, noise, heat, vibration, cold, water, bacteria (such as found in raw milk), chemicals and all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
Work is outdoors; must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
